turn off track changes feature when opening an email attach

Vicky Sandvig

Hi,

I really hope someone can help me with this question I got from one of my
co-workers:

"My colleague & I have a track changes question for you. Is there a way to
once & for all turn track changes off? We use MS Word quite frequently & we
always accept all changes, turn the reviewing tab off, etc. However, when
our recipients receive attachments & open them the track changes are back on
again. We would like to be able to completely turn them off so when the
recipients do open an attachment, they are only viewing the document. Is
this possible? Thank you."

Apparently they want to permanently turn off the Track Changes feature that
activates whenever someone opens an email attachment. I'm stumped can anyone
help me?

What version of Office? Are they using Outlook 2003 as well?

If yes on the Outlook question, Tools->Options->Email Options->Advanced
Email Options... uncheck "Add properties to attachments to enable Reply with
Changes."
