Turn off Word 97 Block delete confirmation

Can anyone tell me how to turn off the block delete confirmation in
Word 97?

I can't find anything about it in the help files, and it's driving me
nuts to have to do this extra step every time I make a change.

Don't have Word 97 to doublecheck but that seems to ring a bell in that
it caused by the "Wordperfect" setting in Tools, Options, Compatability.
