Turning a group of connections that complete, into a shape

M

Mark Jacoby

I have a plot plan that I generated using pointer tool and connector. The
connections complete a shape. In other words they have no end point, a
complete box.
How can I convert that completed group of connections into a shape?
I want to be able to do a color fill to that area to designate different
plot areas.

If you have any other ideas that are easier for this task, please let me know.

Thanks, Mark

Select your lines. Then do Shape > Operations > Fragment. That should
create one or more fillable shapes.

Mark,
How do I select multiply connections?
Ctrl + click with mouse?
When I select using the ctrl and then do operation you described, the
connections all go away. What do I do from there?
Thanks, Mark

Use Ctrl+Click, Shift+Click or drag select to create a selection of multiple
shapes. The Fragment operation will delete all your connectors and replace
them with a set of filled shapes. If your connectors do not form a closed
path, you may get nothing. You might first try intentionally overlapping
several connectors or play with overlapping rectangles just to get a sense
of how the command works.

Perhaps here is a solution. draw all yout different object, make sure they
are all closed (if not you can use the line color) and group all these
object.
When you click on you group you can modify the color of the group. Whan you
click a second time you catch the sub object an can miodify its color alone.
