Turning off Color Printing

How do I turn off color printing on a Deskjet 930C that is being used
with a Mac iMac G5 that is running OS 10.4.7 and using Microsoft Word
11.3.0? Right now the Deskjet will not print anything that is in color.
I would like it, if possible, to convert anything in color into black
and white.

Is the printer in need of an ink cartridge replacement?
