I would like to know how to turn off a kind of font substitution in my Word
2002. It's not "font substitution" per se, as I get a message saying I have
all needed fonts on my system. I'll try to make this problem clearer:
In previous versions of word, if I was using a font and it didn't have the
euro symbol (¤), for example, or an extended accented character, for example
(é) a black box would simply appear if the font was missing this
character/symbol.
Now, if the font is missing the symbol, a symbol from either Times New Roman
or Arial will appear in its place depending on if Word detects if the font
was serif or sans-serif.
How can I turn this feature off? I find it annoying if I'm working with a
specialty font with limited characters or a dingbat font, and I make a
mistake and Word does this, I have to switch back.
Thanks in advance,
