Turning off smarttags

In outlook 2003. How do you turn off smart tags?! I do not have any other
part of Office 2003 installed. I just installed the Outlook because the
computer came with Office 2007 student edition.

When I installed Outlook, I made sure that smart tags should not have been
installed, yet they keep popping up. I would like to know how to permanently
remove them,.

There is no SMARTTAG opttions in the AUTOCORRECT. Normally there would be a
second tab that gives me these choices but it is not there.

I don't understand why the smart tags are even there, any of them. As I
stated in my first post, I marked them so they would not install in the first
place. There has got to be a way to prevent them from working.

I really don't like them at all and need them to go away.

Exactly which smart tags do you see that you shouldn't have installed?

The paste and autocorrect tags are not lumped with the other smart tags
(address, date, financial etc) and not installing smart tags will not
affect if you see them.

Any and All. I don't look at what tags are there. They just irritate me
that they are there. I shouldn't see any of them.

Some times they show up when I type, some times when I cut and paste. As I
said, I would just like ALL of them to go away. As far as I am concerned,
they should be more like the assistant, when they are off, there are off.

I don't know about other buttons - but paste options can be disabled - at
least if you use word as the editor - see if you can find this:
Open message, look on it's Tools, Options dialog
Edit tab.
In the Cut and paste options, check the box for Show Paste Options buttons.
