I posted this last week, but can’t find it now.
When you receive an email marked as "Important !†outlook plays a sound to
alert you. There are two areas that the help section tells you to check and
turn off. First is "Tools/Options/Email Options/Advanced Email Options -
uncheck Play Sounds". Ok, did that. The second is to go into the Windows
settings through the sounds options and turn off all settings that are
related to the emails. Ok, did that also. Yet every time I receive an email
that's marked as "Important !†I still get this loud double beep that's
annoying and disruptive to my colleagues.
I'm using a Dell Latitude D610 laptop with Windows XP Professional. Thanks.
