Turning off spelling and grammar prompts

Hello All

How does one turn off those little red and green squiggly lines in MS
Word that incidicates spelling and grammar problems. And if I turn them
off and email the document, will the person to opens the document see
them anyway?

The problem is that Word unlines items that are intentionally done the
way they are, and it makes the document look unprofessional.

Thanks for any help.

The display will depend on settings on the viewer's computer *unless* you
use one of the following:

1. On the Spelling & Grammar tab of Tools | Options, check the boxes for
"Hide spelling/grammatical errors in this document." This setting is saved
with the document and will travel with it. It prevents the squiggly lines
("Check spelling/grammar as you type") from being displayed but doesn't
prevent a spelling/grammar check from being run manually.

2. Ctrl+A to Select All, then go to Tools | Language | Set Language and
check the box for "Do not check spelling or grammar." This marks all the
text as "no proofing," so it will not display squiggles and cannot be
manually checked, either.
