Two-column table

I have selected Insert table and have selected two columns. The two columns
do not align at the top; the column on the left is shorter. How do I get
them to line up?

Drag the border line between the two columns to the right. You can get more
exactly to the spot you want it by holding the Alt key. If only some of the
rows have that column being skinnier, select only those rows first. Also,
sometimes double-clicking the border between the two will align them better.

Anne, My actual problem is that on the first page of the two-column table
the first and the second column to not lineup at the top but on the second
page they do.

Check the vertical alignment in the cells. Possibly you have it set to
Center or Bottom instead of Top.
