two easy queries, I think

I am using WORD 97. I know with WORKS if I choose the Save As option and the
file already exists, I am asked if I want to replace that file. However,
with WORD, it doesn't ask; it just replaces that file. I can't seem to find
an option that will make WORD ask me if I want to save it using the Save As
option. Surely, there must be such an option. How can I do it?


My second question: I sometimes construct mathematics tests and I need to
have a right triangle. Currently I use Geometer's Sketchpad, draw and label
the triangle, and then import it into WORD. Surely, there must be a way to
do this within WORD. I can use the WORD drawing tool under Auto Shapes and
get a nice right triangle, but I can't seem to add my labels. (ie: labelling
the vertices and sides of the right triangle)

I would show you the picture, but it doesn't seem to copy from my WORD
document to this one.

There's something wrong if this is happening. Have you checked for a virus?
Or conceivably an incompetent macro...

Word is not terrific for this sort of work, but you can construct such
graphics using the graphics tools (as you note) plus text boxes for labels.
You need to format the textboxes to remove their borders and shading.

Your saving question has been treated at length in another NG (please do not
multi-post). As for the graphics question, this would probably get a better
answer in microsoft.public.word.drawing.graphics, but the only way to add
rotatable text to your AutoShape in Word is to use WordArt (in Publisher,
you can rotate ordinary text).
