Two MS Word problems

G

George

I have two very irritating problems that occur all the time when I am
using MS Word 2000. When I am typing a document, suddenly if I move
the cursor to the left, the whole document shoots off to the left and
disappears off the edge of the screen.

It can be moved back into position easily with the centering arrows,
but it is a real pain.

Another silly thing that happens is that it often defaults back to
french and so produces loads of spell check errors. I have set English
UK to be the default language everywhere I can find it, but it still
changes to french by itself.

Both very trivial faults, but extremely irritating. I can't remember
this happening with earlier versions. Any ideas?

Thanks George.

How are you moving the cursor to the left? Are you using the keyboard or a
mouse? What type?

Terry. Thanks for the interest. I am using the mouse - controlled
by the touch pad on my Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro circa 2004 The
properties say it is a Synaptics device. Windows XP Pro, - always
updated. I can try using keyboard control but not right now, it's
time to get the kids up!

Regards George.

I would guess that either synaptecs driver needs updating or go into setup
and desensitize the touchpad. It is a common problem.
