Two Office 2003 issues/questions

I was just converted from Office 2002 to Office 2003 and have a couple of
questions.

1. File | Open no longer shows Favorites. Is there a new way to create
shortcuts to often visited buried folders?

2. The background color of toolbar icons is very pale blue. Is there a way
to change that color? I've played around in Windows properties, chosing
Windows XP and Windows Classic, but neither makes any change to this
background color. I would like to darken it to make things more visible. Is
there a way?

You can add these folders to the Places Bar. See

Looks like Suzanne answered your first, so I'll skip that. To change your
background colors go to start, settings, control panel, display and go to your
appearance tab and select the options you like

As I indicated, I have been working with the display properties and have been
unsuccessful in making any changes. Thanks for your input.
