Two sections in one word document (original text on odd page numbers, translated text on even page nu

Hello,

I have a huge problem with my essay. I have translated a literary text
from English to Greek. The problem is that now I want to put these two
different documents into one, only, I want the original text to appear
in continuity on the odd page numbers of the word document, and the
translation on the even page numbers, just like in books where they
have both the original text and the translation in consecutive pages.
In other words, when I will be opening my essay (when I print it), the
thing I want to see is on my left hand say 2 paragraphs of the English
text and on my right hand the two paragraphs of the Greek translation,
and when I turn the pages i wan to have the same thing. Is that
possible in Word 2002?

Also, the second tricky part is that not only do i want the previous
format i just mentioned, i also want in this same word document to
have line numbering every 5 lines on both texts, that is, separate
line numbering for the English text and separate for the Greek... I
know i ask for too much, but that's my teachers instructions and
before saying "sorry that's impossible, where did you hear that?!" :p,
i would like to hear if anyone else has ever encountered such a
problem, if! it is a problem, cause I don't know, maybe it has a
simple solution that I don't know of...

Thank you so much, in advance!!!!

This is a frequent request, but it is more or less impossible (certainly
impractical) to achieve in Word. The alternating pages can be handled better
in Publisher, where you can link text boxes from page to page (there's a
hard limit of 32 linked text boxes in Word), but I don't think Publisher can
do line numbering.

You can achieve this in Word if you will break up the document into
manageable (page-sized) chunks. You''ll need to insert manual page breaks
between the English and Greek pages and restart line numbering on each page.
If you want the line numbering to be continuous for English and for Greek,
then you'll need section breaks instead, and to set a starting line number
in each section. You might as well just type it.

The alternative, if the document will be submitted as hard copy, is to
create it as two separate documents and print one on the back of the other.
But most likely you'll need to break the text into page-size chunks, anyway,
in order to have the translation on the facing page match the original text.
