Two version of Publisher on same box ?

I recently acquired a new computer.
I have Office 2003 with SP1 and it includes Publisher 2003.
Our church newsletter is created using Pub 2003.
I tried to convert our church newsletter to web site format
( so that the newsletter can be posted to the web )
using the native tools of Pub 2003.
I observed that the result is viewed fine in IE, but the result
is pretty bad when using netscape 7.x or Firefox 1.0.
( I did review a lot of posts from this forum, and tried the
suggestions of 'no vml' and 'no png', but it did not help. )

So, given that it appears that I can't change the way Pub 2003
creates html code, my backup plan is to save my .pub file
in Pub 98 format, and then use Pub 98 to create the html files
that are to be posted to the web.
( Pub 98 output may have its faults, but at least all browsers
see the pages in the same way. )

My question - does anyone know if 2 versions of Publisher can
be installed on the same box ( probably in different directories )
without conflict?
( I really wouldn't like having to use two computers
to complete my task... )

thanks

I have three versions on my system. I'd recommend using FrontPage for a
website but I can understand using what you have on hand.

In addition to JoAnn's reply, Publisher's various versions work best when they are in
separate folders.

thanks for the info.

Yes - I do use FP 2000 for the major part of the website.
However, it is nice to put the church's newsletter onto the web as well.
( I 'own' the web site, put someone else with another computer 'owns'
the newsletter. )
So, having PUB 98 convert the .pub file to html for the newsletter
has made the task of putting the newsletter on the web really simple.

I agree that FP is for a serious web site, and PUB is for a serious
newsletter.
Having a nice interaction between them is a nice bonus. It is unfortunate
that PUB 2003 is not generic like PUB 98 with regard to browser
compatibilities.

thanks again.

May I suggest turning your newsletter into a .pdf file and then post that.
If you don't have Acrobat, there are several free or low-cost alternatives.
I've been recommending PrimoPDF (www.primopdf.com). I have Acrobat but found
Primo a really nice, free program. And I really like the free part.
