Txt box population of data based on input

Hello,
I'm very new at all of this so please excuse simple questions. I have built
a database for "tech help desk".
When a tech enters the web front end, I want them to enter their name and
have their ID populate the next field.
I am horrid at scripting but I'm thinking that it can be done?
It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction.

tables: emp (all employee info)
task (only emp id and then task info)

I built the webpage through the wizard but added several drop lists.
My focus is on web page: First_Name and ID

Your question has nothing to do with access.formscoding since you are using a
web page and script. Consider posting your question in an ASP or .net or PHP
or whatever news group.
