type reflow

Can anyone tell me what I can change to keep type from reflowing?

I have a client who brings in Publisher files and the Times New Roman font
reflows everytime. Even when I save the file to a new filename after I have
rearranged the type. It goes back to a different flow.

Arghhhhhh! Why does this not happen with PageMaker?

Ahh! But it does with PageMaker if the compose to printer is serious!y out
of sync with the one used when the file is opened! But I agree, that
Publisher is less adept than PM at minimizing this.

You did not mention which version of Pub was used and which version you are
opening it in.

v 2000 and up are far, far better. Even better, they support the "pack and
go" module which help even more. If they are using Pub 2000 or better,
insist they use the Pack N go process (on the file menu)

this'll embed the fonts THEY used (except for Word Art ones) and allow you
to activate them for that document.

I've also seen what I think is text copy-and-pasted from Word behave more
like this than text typed directly into Pub...but it's been quite awhile
since I've seen major reflows

sometimes changing the letterspacing by a percent or 2, oking out then going
back in and changing it back again will help.
