Type into a new Word 2003 document with autocorrect on. The second "will"
changes to "Hill". There is no relevant entry in autocorrect. It then affects
random occurrences of "will" throughout the document.

Highly bizarre. Try starting Word in Safe Mode and testing again. From the
Start, Run dialog, type in

winword /a

and press Enter. Word will start in safe mode. Try the document again typing
in plenty of 'will's' at odd times to see if it still occurs.
