Typing diacritics

Does anyone know how to type in Greek fonts with the diacritics. I am able
use a greek font by changing the language in the tools menu but can't find
how to put the diacritics in although they are supposed to be in the font
file.

Help says go to the complex scripts tab in the Tools menu but I don't have a
complex scripts tab
