Typing in Words Hangs Computer

Greetings. I have a thiid party tower with AMD Duron 750. I installed XP Pro, updated, installed Office 2003, updated. Now when I type anything in Word or Outlook, then go to save or spell check, it hangs the computer and I have to re-boot. Only other thing I can think of is I am using a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Thanks, this is causing great stress!

Try this test running Word in Safe Mode and see what happens. Keep Outlook
closed though whilst running this test.

Open Word from the Run dialog: go Start, Run and type in

winword /a

and press enter. Word will start in safe mode. Test it and see if that
resolves the problem. Let us know and we will tell you what to do from
there.

I a similar problem (typing in Word hangs computer) using
W2K, Office XP Pro with AMD processor/1GB RAM. I found
that going from Word to another application and then back
to Word allows me to type one or two more
characters...very frustrating.

I ran the "Safe Mode" test described below and the problem
went away.

Could you post the solution so I can see if it works?
