Typing issue

I am running Running Word 2007 on Windows XP on new PC with lots (2 GB) of RAM.

User cannot type fast without letters being skipped. Tried new keyboard. I
watched user press harder but this install of Word 2007 simply will not
tolerate moderate typing speeds. Roughly every 7th to 10th letter skipped.
Visible response of screen display of each letter to keyboard touch has a
slight hitch in it.

The same typing speed DOES NOT cause problems in WordPad or Notepad. Same
user has no problem in Word 2003 for years.

Office Diagnostics found no problem.

There is a Spellex medical spell checker. Other than that, this setup is
plain vanilla with largely default settings. What else can I adjust to solve
this problem?

I'm not familiar with the Spellex medical spell checker, but if it has a
feature that allows spell checking as you type, try turning that function
off. Instead, spell check manually.
