Typing lags in Word 2007 w/Vista

I have a new Toshiba laptop w/ Vista Home Premium. I find that the typing in
MS Word is unbearable slow sometimes - there's a delay of a full second or
more between when I type a character and it appears on screen. Doesn't happen
all the time but when it does, it's nearly impossible to work with. The
laptop has 2 GB RAM. I'm using a copy of Office Home and Student I got on
sale and installed after uninstalling the trial version that came with the
computer. I'm also using the Comcast-supplied version of McAfee security,
again after uninstalling the trial version that came on the machine. Any
suggestions?

Some users report the 'slow typing' problem only occurs when the Review
tab on the Word 2007 ribbon is displayed, so try clicking on one of the
other tabs (Home, Insert, Page Layout, etc.) and see if the problem
persists.

A common problem is that Word cannot find a default printer driver
installed. Do you have a printer installed locally and set as Windows
default?
