I want to type numbers into cells without having to type the decimal point to return the correct number.
As example if I type 100 expecting the cell to display 100 the cell will display 1 when in format general. If i change format to Number and type 100 the cell displays 1.00
The only way to get 100 to display is to change format to Text however using this format will not allow Auto Function will not operate.

Any help much appreciated

Your problem is Excel preferences. Look in the edit pane and uncheck "show
this number of decimal places"
