Is there a way that after I can scan a written document,
I can transfer the document to Word and type on it?

If your have an OCR program to extract the text then you can do this. You'll
almost certainly have to completely reformat the document as you generally
only get plain text out of the original document.

Office XP and 2003 have a badly promoted program called Microsoft Office
Document Imaging that handles the OCR and Send to Word functions.

Please respond in the same thread on this newsgroup. Make sure you
include details of your application and Windows versions, and whether
or not you have included any service pack updates.

The best program I know which does it is FineReader by
ABBYY. Latest ver. is 7.0.
It scans, OCRs, spellchecks, etc. Even recognize tables,
double-columns, etc. Shortly, it keeps your format.
