typing slow to echo characters

when typing / keying data into Excel or Word she has to wait for characters
to be displayed on screen. Win XP Pro SP3, Office 2007. Thanks for any
ideas.

Only Word and Excel? How about non-Office programs?

Have you tried a new keyboard, or an updated keyboard driver?
