typing

how do you officially end a letter or anything that im typing for that
matter. when i send something though attachment it sends a raw file that the
person can still alter. Im really new to this stuff

The usual way is to turn it into a .pdf (portable document format) file.
There are a number of free/shareware converters that you should be able to
find by Googling. Adobe Acrobat is the main commercial converter.
