"UN"-JOIN LINE SEGMENTS!

How do I (un)Join two or more line segments in Visio? I know you can opt to
start a new line from the endpoint of a line that is selected, thereby
"joining" the two together or opt to double click before starting a new line
from the endpoint of a line that is now not selected, thereby keeping the two
line segments as individual lines though they look the same either way.
However, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to (un)join two line
segments after the first option has been used. My only option at this point
is to delete the joined line segments and use the above mentioned option 2. I
am revising many drawings with numerous joined segments and it is very
tedious redrawing every single line! Please help!

I can only think of a trick that would be practical in simple cases.

1. Make sure Snap to Vertices is turned on
2. Draw a line such that the end of it terminates at a vertex on the line
you want to "un-join"
3. Select both lines, then choose Shape > Operations > Trim

You're effectively slicing the lines with each other, and you'll end up with
an extra piece or two...

Thank you for the response but when I draw a line across any of the lines of
the shape and trim the new line is split into two but the connected line
segments of the shape are still joined or grouped or glued or whatever. Any
other ideas?

The idea was to draw a line to whatever vertex you needed to unjoin, thereby
splitting the original line where you need to split it. If you have fiver
vertices, then you need to split it five times.
