Un-outdentable

Ken Kast

I created a small project (50 tasks/subtasks) by fat-fingering the
information into Proj2K (though I'm seeing the phenomenon in Proj03). The
wbs goes down 5 levels. I found when I tried to update the project that I
couldn't outdent many of the tasks. I haven't tried them all; it might be
all of them. And I can't delete the tasks, at least the lowest level ones
on any branch. I exported the project to excel, changed the level there and
re-imported. The task moved where I wanted it, but it's left-frozen there.
I can indent tasks, but once I do they can't be marched back out.

Is there something I might have inadvertently set that's causing this? More
importantly, how can I unglue the tasks?

Hi Ken,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Microsoft has released an update to Microsoft Office Project 2003. This
update fixes a problem where you cannot remove an indent of a task after the
task becomes part of a summary in Microsoft Office Project Standard 2003.
For details, please see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832887.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :))
