Unable do open saved spreadsheet

Hi,

When trying to open a saved spreadsheet (which is shared on our network) the
application opens but the sheets do not appear. Only the 'ready' signal
appears in the bottom left. I've tried to import into access but when it gets
to the last step it fails to import. Can anybody help, or is the file
corrupted?

How are you trying to open it? Are you double clicking a shortcut, or have
you tried using File / Open within Excel. Can anyone else open the
workbook? What version Excel? I hate shared workbooks

Ken,

All known ways of trying to open it fail. Nobody else on the network an open
it either. It was created on Excel 2002.

Have you tried the 'Open and Repair' option in Excel 2002.

Another option would be to try using OpenOffice, available free from
www.openoffice.org to try and open it - 70MB download, but will often open
corrupt Excel files that even Excel cannot.
