unable install software for epson 1660

Have just purchased an epson perfection 1660 photo scanner and so far have
been unable to install the software supplyed with it there seems to be a
system problem it is telling me it is a 16 bit windows subsystem. the system
file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications
please help thanks

Did you bother to check the topic of this group before posting...? No, you
did not. This group is for issues with MS Office - your question (unless I've
missed something) has nothing whatsoever to do with MS Office...

Please post in a more appropriate group.
