Unable to Accept all task updates

We have MS Project server 2003 and MS Project 2003. We had a Project Manager
leave and so was replaced by another... the project resource and manager
names in an active project plan were not properly swithced and many of the
assigned tasks were deleted from the project plan which was then published by
the new project manager.

Problem: There are old tasks assignments from the original project that
require the original project manager to accept timecard updates... but the
tasks no longer exist in the project plan and the original project manager
windows account has been removed from Active Directory. Although I have
changed the original PM account from AD to Project Server, and able to
login... the Accept All does not work...

Question 1
How do I accept / clear the task entries in the timesheet for those that no
longer exist in the project plan and as the original project manager?

Question 2
Some tasks show up as deleted in the Timesheet (with the black X)... Is
there a way to clear this from the resource timesheets?

Thanks much,

Your new PM (I hope it's not you) has really screwed up this Microsoft
Project plan. Because of the problem he/she is having, I would recommend
that you do the following:

1. Ask the PM to save the project as an .mpp file
2. Delete the project from the Project Server database
3. Import the project into the system again using Tools - Enterprise
Options - Import Project to Enterprise
4. Click Collaborate - Publish - All Information
5. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
7. Select the "Overwrite actuals entered by resources" option
8. Click OK

The above steps will resolve the issues caused by the departure of the
former PM and the actions of the new PM. In addition, if this project has
associated Risks, Issues, or Documents in WSS, then refer to the following
FAQ before your Project Server administrator deletes the project:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/DeleteProjectWithoutSubweb.htm

Hope this helps.

Thankfully No, I am not the one who made these changes.. I know what you are
describing will work... how then do the X's indicating a deleted task get
cleared away from existing active projects in a resources timecard ? Same
method? I fear the answer... ha ha
