Unable to accept changes using Reviewer

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I have been working on a fairly large (40Mb) Word docx. The new version I started using the changes tracker (baloons by the side, no preview pane at bottom). However, I then moved office location and now need to break the document down and so I can email it. I did a save as Title 1/4 and then tried to delete 3/4 of the document. This worked OK but then I tried to accept this change as it is not a reviewable part of my document editing. I tried to do this by clicking on the tick at the top right hand side of the changes baloon. All this did was open the preview pane at the bottom of the page and highlight the text in the baloon.

I cannot get it to do anything that shows it has accepted my change and delete the text off the file I have deleted out the doc so that my file size gets back down to a sensible size. I have also had trouble saving it - I don't have a lot other going on my computer - just Entourage running in the background so I doubt its processor issues?? Help!!

Yeah, there's no good news here.

That's going to be "Too many changes have made the document code too complex
and now Word can't read the document".

The document is corrupt.

Try "Accept All Changes in Document" first. However, it's likely to give
you the same failure. You will probably have to Maggie it, and when you do,
you will lose all the changes.

The Maggie:

1. Create a new blank document
2. Carefully select all of the text in the bad document EXCEPT the last
paragraph mark
3. Copy it.
4. Paste in the new document.
5. Save under a new file name and close all, then re-open.

This technique for de-corrupting is known as "Doing a 'Maggie'", after
Margaret Secara from the TECHWR-L mailing list, who first publicised the
technique.

Hope this helps
