I was using MS Excel on my PC at work, when my network went down. I shut
down my PC for the day and went home. When I arrived this morning to
continue work on my file, I could not access it, and the file is stored
located on my desktop with noe links or OLE stuff to anything on the network.
When I launch the file I receive the error "****.xls cannot be accessed.
The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only
location. Or, the serverthe document is stored on may not be responding."
PLEASE help me. My manager wasn't too happy to leard I may need to start all
over :-(
I've tried renaming the file, moving it to another location, Another PC,
looking for any "locking" temporary files or even a back-up copy. All with no
luck. I know, let this be a lesson in the importance of backing up files,
but I need help with my file.
