unable to activate OneNote trial

I am unable to activate a trial version of OneNote 2003. Upon attempting to
activate via the internet (with a reliable, currently-in-use broadband
connection) I receive an error dialog box stating the Activation Wizard is
unable to find a connection to the Internet.

Of course, M'soft is of little to no help due to this being a trial version
(despite having spent a small fortune on M'soft products), and therefore
suggested this route (discussion group) as a possible solution.

For whatever it's worth, the OS is XP with the full Office 2003 suite
installed. Also, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the trial version,
rebooted a coupled of times, and even re-downloaded the trail version - all
to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, in advance.
