Unable to add certain emails to the blocked senders list directly

The majority of junk emails that I receive can be added to the blocked
senders list by simply clicking on the email and saving it to the blocked
senders list; however, recently I have had a problem with a variety of junk
emails that cannot be sent to the blocked senders list this way. When I try
to do this, en error message pops up telling me that the email address cannot
be added to the blocked list because it is not a valid email address. But,
if I try to manually add the same email address as a new addition to the
blocked senders list, it allows me to do this. Adding the email address the
manual way takes longer. Why am I not able to save certain emails to the
blocked senders list by simply clicking on that particular email and sending
it directly to the blocked email list? What is prompting that error to pop
up and how can I get around this so I'm not having to take so much time
adding senders to the blocked email list manually?

Probably because the string(s) in the From header for the e-mail
address are not valid syntax.

Why are you filling up the Blocked Senders list with e-mail addresses
from spam? This list only works when the sender always uses the same
e-mail address. Spammers change their address everytime they spew and
a different gets used from each infected host that is running their
mailer trojan. They don't use their own e-mail address. They use a
bogus one or someone else's, and it changes everytime. The Blocked
Senders list is worthless in getting rid of spam.

Let's reverse the question first; why do you add each and every address from
a Junk Email to your Blocked list?
1) There is no need to add the address if the Junk Email filter caught it
already.
2) Most addresses used for spamming won't be reused ever again so "logging"
all those addresses to your Blocked list will only make the Junk Email
filtering a slower process for you.
