unable to add or delete from document i scanned

After document was scanned to word i tried to make necessary changes such as
deleting a paragraph and adding a new paragraph. What can i do.

I've never encountered that problem. So... it'll probably take a bit more
information to figure out what's going on. For starters:

1. What version of Word are you using? Has it been properly activated (if
applicable)?

2. Are you looking at a picture of text from the scanned document, or are
you looking at text that was produced using OCR (optical character
recognition)?

If this is a picture of text, then you can't edit the way you're trying.
You'll need to use OCR to convert the picture into actual text.

What you scanned is irrelevant. A scanner will only produce an image of what
is being scaned, the software associated with the scanning operation will
permit you to save the image in some graphical format (.gif, .itf, .jpg etc.
etc).

If you wish to use this image as an editable text or word processing
document then the image file needs to be processed through an Optical
Character Recognition (OCR) package, this may or may not be provided with
your scanner software.

Please be aware that OCR software is not always 100% accurate and you will
have to check the resultant document carefull especially if "fancy" fonts
have been used.

If there are graphical images in the resume then these will probably have to
be scanned separetely and reinserted into the final document.

Word is unable to edit graphics! As others have told you, you need OCR
software to convert a graphic to text.

I've found the the version of Text Bridge that came with my scanner is much
more accurate than ODI's OCR software. For that reason alone I scanned in
most of the manual I'm converting to an electronic version at home. As if I
don't do enough volunteer work already... ;-)

I hope that there are no fancy fonts in a resume. It is a certainty for the
wastebasket if it has.

Ditto for misspelled words, cutesy graphics, etc. And somthing I think is a
killer - email addresses like CuteKittie123@ wherever.com or StudlyDoRight@
wherever.com. Create a new account if you have to just to avoid the image it
portrays.
