I work for an ISP, providing telephone based Tech Support. We have recently
changed our relaying rules for outgoing email, due to the recent flood of
emails created by a common virus. We set up a special server for our
customers who need to send through our service, but are connected to another
ISP. This server requires a username and password for SMTP. The server
works just as intended. All mail clents except Microsoft Outlook athenticate
correctly, including Outlook Express. In testing on multiple PCs, MS Outlook
never attemts to send the username and password to the SMTP server.
Before you ask - yes I know how to set MS Outlook to use a username and
password for SMTP.
Any help with this issue would be greatly apreciated.
