Unable to backspace in second account on MacBook

I have 2 accounts set up on my new MacBook with Leopard and am using Word for Mac 2004. In December, MS helped me to resolve problem with inability to backspace/delete characters in Account #1. It had to do with system log-in issues and, perhaps, a Visual Basic error, but I can't recall anything else. Now, in Word under Account #2 (which my wife just tried recently) she is unable to backspace/delete characters and is getting this message: "Run-time error 75; Path/file access error." Previously I think she might have had a Visual Basic error message as well.

Any thoughts? I don't have any more "free" Microsoft support. ;-)

Thanks,

John

Hi John:

Plenty of free support in here, and I defy you to exhaust US :)

I would find your Wife's Normal template and drag it to the desktop, then
re-boot.

Unless you have moved it, it should be in the Microsoft User Data folder.
Let me know how that works for you. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get
these problems sorted...

Cheers

Hi John M,

I tried your suggestion, but to no avail. My wife is still having the same problem. :-(

If you have any other thoughts, please send 'em my way.

Thanks,

Hi John:

Try this: Create a new User ID and try it there.

It may be quicker to simply move your Wife's files into a new user account
than to try to find this one.

Alternatively, running Disk Utility and "repair Permissions", followed by a
power-down and re-boot 'might' fix it.

Make sure your Wife is not running any haxies.

Hope this helps
