Unable to Compact and Repair

SCHNYDES

Good afternoon all. I have an access database front end backend split win
windows 2000 format with the newest MSJET 4 version. Each morning I have a
representative come in and compact and repair the database.

Lately we have been unable to compact and repair. Every time we go to
compact and repair it gets to about a quarter of the way and access crashes
and an error report is generated when using access 2003, and a memory read
error appears using 2000. . .closing access down and stopping the compact and
repair functionality.

I tried JetComp, but the same thing a memory read error and a crash. Any
suggestions?

Corrupted database by the sound of it. I'd try creating a new database and
imopring all the objects into it from the damaged one. From what you say, I
wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't work either, but you may at least find
out which object is causing the problem.

Erm, "imopring" is not a technical term, it should of course read
"importing"

Brian has the obvious suggestion. There are some other things you can
try at the Microsoft Access Corruption FAQ at
