Unable to complete accepting time

I tried accepting time, after taking ownership of a project in PWA/MSP2003.
It then opens MS-Project Professional and the associated enterprise file,
then seems to hang indefinitely. I tried numerous times, without success. I
tried saving and publishing the file, no luck. In PWA it shows the following
text "Save your project file with this task change".

Is the underlying file corrupted, and should I do a binary rebuild?
