Hi,

I had an application (built in access 2K) resides in my company server.
However no one able to open the application with it open by another user on
another work station. It prompt an error message-
Unable to open as it is locked exclusively by another user on workstation
XXXX (computer name).

Had tried open it on explorer> Network Places & From Access> More Files but
gotten similar error message.

Do all of your users have a minimum of Read, Write and Create permissions on
the folder where the mdb file resides?

Hi Douglas;

Firstly, Howdo I find that out ?

Secondly, instead of going to remote PC & check individually any other method
that I can set from the application itself allowing read, write and otherwise
?

Could the file be opened explicitly?

Hi Jason,

You may wish to involve your network administrator for point 1.

If the user doesn't have the correct permissions, it's unlikely he/she will
be able to change his/her own permissions, therefore point 2 is unlikely to
be possible.
