In Word 2007, Excel 2007, and PowerPoint 2007 if you click on the Office
Icon {upper left} and then on the applications Options {bottom} and select
Resources there is a option to go to Microsoft Office Online. Is that what
you are looking for? If for some reason the link under Resources does not
work in your application, try a repair or Microsoft Office Diagnosis {also
under the Resources}.

Thanks for your response. I did the Diagnosis and found no problem. What I
meant by accessing Microsoft Office Online is by clicking on the "Office
Icon" and "New". A screen will appear and on the left there will be
"Templates" and "Microsoft Office Online". When I click of any options below
"Microsoft Office Online", it will indicate that it is unable to connect.
There is two option, one is to "try again" and the other is to "troubleshoot
my connection". When I tried to troubleshoot my connection it does not help
much. But the help menu was able to connect to "Microsoft Office Online".

I tested the procedure you described in Word 2007, connected and downloaded
a test template. It is only a guess, but if you have a firewall installed
that controls outgoing connections, the firewall may be the problem. If you
do, try turning the firewall off and see if you can connect.

Thanks for your response. I tried turning off my firewall and unfortunately
it still does not work. Do you still have any suggestions? Thanks.

problem persists...

Did you get any solution?

Hi, This is JohnBes from Microsoft, I’m in the Office Assistance and
Worldwide Services team. Let me know if you are still having problems
connecting to Office Online from the Office applications. If so, I’d like
you to first try a few other online connectivity tests and let me know what
happens.
1. On 2007 ribbon apps like Word, XL,PPT click on the Insert menu => choose
Clip Art
a. On non-ribbon apps, Insert = > Picture => Clipart…
2. Click on the “Search In†drop down of the Clipart Task Pane and make sure
“Web Collections†is checked.
3. Search for any common term like cat or bridge.
4. If an alert appears asking if you want to search for clips online, choose
Yes.
5. Online clipart should appear in your clipart taskpane. You’ll know its
online as they will have a tiny globe icon at the bottom left of the clipart
thumbnail.
6. Click on any online clip to insert into yoru document.

Also, make sure you can connect to Research sites from Word.
1. In Word 2007 choose the Review menu from the Ribbon and select Research
from the Proofing toolbar.
2. In the Reference dropdown at the top of the Research pane, select any
online listing in the “All Research Sites†category.
3. Search for any common term and make sure online results appear in the
results list.

If you haven’t recently, please delete your cookies, then restart
your system and check for connectivity.

Finally, browse to http://office.microsoft.com and
sign-out if you are currently signed in with your passport account. After
signing out, delete your cookies, restart your Office apps and try to connect
to online properties from the Office apps.
Note: You can tell if you are signed in or not by looking at the top right
of the Office.Microsoft.com home page. A status indicator will say either
"Sign In" (meaning your are NOT signed in) or "Sign Out" (meaning you are
signed in.)

I’ll be your main contact for tracking this issue through to completion.
Feel free to E-mail me at (e-mail address removed) anytime. If we can’t readily
figure out this problem with standard trouble shooting steps, I may ask a few
of you to download a shareware tool to detect client/server connectivity
traffic to help debug the issue.

Thanks,
John

You cannot access clip art either. I have been working on this for a while now and this has to be a bug in Office 2007. On my laptop everything works but on another laptop it doesn't. Same installs, updates and all.

I had a workstation that was not working and I just kept on clicking "try again" and it finally worked. I know this is no solution.

I does not have anything to do with my firewalls. I have tried to do it via dial up turning my windows firewall off also.

Does anyone have any new ideas?

Thanks

Brian

As explained in another stream, I have also this problem, that is not being
able to access ms-online. I have a made-in-Singapore Lenovo and my official
professional licence says: "For distribution with a new Lenovo Singapore PC
only". I know that another usr had a problem with Singapore setting.

I am in Canada and my regional setting are English canada and Canada
Location .

Any clue?

While waiting for Microsoft to fix the no connectivity to Office Online to search templates issue (Office 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) seems does not address the error yet), a simple workaround solution is to set the language format to English (United States).

To set another location for Windows Vista or Windows XP computer, open Control Panel, and then run “Regional and Language Options” dialog. Under the “Format” tab, select English (United States) language format from the dropdown list to set it as the current format. Then, click on OK button to save the change. Now, try to get online template from Office application when creating new document, plenty of free template will be displayed.
