unable to create an instance of required object: server admin

Help!
I need to make a back-up of the work I have done, but every time I try to
save it to an external source, cd or flash drive, I get the above message -
followed by an error message saying that the programme needs to shut down,
which is does.

I am getting the above message when I try to save my files (from Word, My
Documents) onto a cd or flash drive.

Save your documents to the local HDD and then COPY the documents to the
removable media.
