Unable to create an MDE database

Help! I am getting a message box "Microsoft Access was
unable to create an MDE database.". It has been working
fine until about a week ago on 2 different machines.. on
many different databases. If I create a new database it
works fine, but not on any existing Access 2002 DB. I
even created a new DB and exported all items.. still same
message! Help, is this because of any patches to Jet or
Windows??

The default format in Access 2002 is actually the Access 2000 format. Access
2002 cannot convert an Access 2000 format database into an MDE: you need to
convert to Access 2002 format first.

The DB is in 2002 format. Up until about 2 weeks ago it
was converting fine to an MDE file. Nothing was install
on any of the machines except for Windows, Office and
Norton AV updates. All computers have been scanned for
virus.

Have you tried doing a compile on the database? With any code module open,
select Debug from the menu, and Compile is the first option.
