I have installed Visio 2000 Professional Edition and have been trying to
create a database model with it (from which I eventually want to generate an
Access database). Unfortunately, every time I create a new model using File
| New | Database | Data Model Diagram, or by creating a blank drawing then
opening the Entity Relationship or Object Relational stencil, I get an "An
unhandled exception occurred" error message as soon as I drag an Entity
shape on to the page. I am then unable to access the Database Properties
window by any means, either via a menu item or by double-clicking the entity
as the help file suggests.
This happens in both Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows ME. I have tried to
install the Office 2000 service packs, but as the other Office programs I
have on my PC are from Office 97 and Office XP, the Office 2000 service
packs tell me there are no eligible applications to patch. Has anybody else
had this problem?
