Unable to create/edit Office 2003 files

Hi,

I have a friend who is unable to create or edit any files (.doc, .xls etc.)
in his version of Office 2003. I believe he's been using the software for
a while so I don't think this is an activation issue, though I'll ask him to
double-check that.

Is there anything else that could cause this problem?

I did a quick Google search and found the following thread in which one of
the posters states that he resolved the issue by deleting Office registry
keys, but he didn't quote which specific keys those were:

If anyone knows which keys need to be deleted, please post them here.

Sounds like your friend may have either an expired version of Office. Did
you ask how long he's been using it?
