Unable to delete e-mails in Junk E-mail folder

I am using Office 2003.
I can delete all e-mails in my junk e-mail from today back to May 19. Any
e-mail in my junk e-mail prior to that date that I try to delete, or if I try
to empty my junk e-mail folder, I get the following error message:
"The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. Restart Outlook."
Restarting Outlook does not correct the matter and I have about 2000 junk
e-mails that I am unable to get rid off. What can I do to fix this??

Are you using a pst-file? Then run scanpst.exe to check it for errors.
