unable to delete large message clogging outbox

I was attempting to send a powerpoint document from home to my office and it
has jammed my outbox. I have tried to set to work offline and delete the
item, but it will not delete. I do not know how to restart outlook in its
'safe' mode.... as referred to in another post. Any suggestions?

Thank you, I am not able to get beyond step 6 where it says to delete it
from the old outbox. It will not delete...

Then the answer is to copy all your data from the old pst file to the new
except the Outbox (obviously!) and delete the old pst file.

I had a similar problem with outlook 2007. tried sending a large file 270mg.
Got stuck and is still there. I would be able to recieve e-mail but now send
out. Solution... I just set up a new pst file and made it my default. Very
important to make it your default or else it won't work. I can now send out
e-mail.
The message is still stuck in my other outbox but it doesn't interfere with
my new one.

If the other pst is in the profile you should be able to delete it now that
its no longer the default pst.

Best thing to do is, this helped me:
1) File > Work Offline
2) Close All Programs
3) Restart Computer
4) Open Outlook
5) Highlight Message clogging your outbox, SHIFT + DELETE to permenantly
delete the message

No need to close all programs or restart the computer. Just stop and restart
Outlook.
