Unable to Display the View - Outlook 2007

I got this error yesterday and was unable to display ANY of my Outlook
folders. I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get it fixed and then
discovered a thread about creating a new profile, which I ultimately did.

This worked OK, but now I'm getting the same message again, less than 24
hours later.

What do I need to do to fix this? Thanks.

The exact message is "Outlook cannot display this view."

I just ran the Inbox Repair Tool. Afterword, it worked for a while and now
I'm getting the same message again.

Please help.

Start Outlook in safe mode (hold Ctrl when you start Outlook) and look at what
add-ins you have installed. One of them may be the culprit.

I started having this problem Monday and had added one yesterday. I've now
disabled the new one and still get the error.

So far, I've:

1) Run the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe).
2) Compacted outlook.pst.
3) Created a new Outlook profile, and set the datafile to use my outlook.pst.

So far, the only thing that realy has seemed to work was the new profile,
but even now that doesn't work. It ran for a few hours this afternoon and
seemed to be OK, but then crashed.

I'm absolutely beside myself with how much time I've spent on this now over
the last 3 days and now seem to be back at square 1 again. I don't have a
clue what to do next.

You are really a MadDog alright because what are you talking about? What
exactly is your problem? Your message doesn't say anything about your
problem.

Members of the Pig Society can't help you if you don't state your problem
succinctly.

You may want to uninstall your antivirus application.

What add-ins are installed for your Outlook?

It's always good practice to quote relevant parts of the message to which you
reply so that context is maintained.

Have you tried starting Outlook with the /cleanviews command switch?
Start>Run (or Search)>outlook.exe /cleanviews
(the space is required)

Have you tried clearing the forms cache?

Last night, I may have stumbled onto the problem. I've been using ACT! for
about a year. After I did all the steps indicated above yesterday, Outlook
was working OK. I then went to add my ACT! address book and Outlook crashed.
When I removed the address book, it worked again.

So, now the question is, why did the ACT! address book all of a sudden start
crashing Outlook. I found a couple of articles in their support forum which
said that improperly formatted email addresses can cause the exact problem
I'm having. I'm going through all of my ACT! email addresses right now. I
found a few that were bad, and I'll try connecting it again in Outlook when
I'm done.

Just tried the /cleanviews and cleared the forms cache. Same problem
occurring. Outlook now will absolutely NOT start with the ACT! address book
added.
