Unable to double-click cell for editing

For some reason I can no longer double-click a cell to edit its
contents. I have to select the cell and then edit its contents from
the formula bar. I used to be able to double-click a cell and edit
text from within the cell. I don't have any problems in any other
programs. Any idea what gives? Thanks in advance.

Tools | Options | Edit Tab | Select Edit directly in cell | OK

Maybe Tools|Options|Edit tab|"Edit directly in cell" is no longer checked.
