unable to download service pack 2

my computer lets the whole service pack download only for
a tiny pop up to show saying "access denied". all the
stuff is erased and then windows xp doesn't act normal
anymore. does anyone know what this is?

This is a Microsoft Access (Access is a database application that is part of
Microsoft Office Profesional) newsgroup.
